"Perfect Pets"

Sometimes it is the pure incongruity of things that attract me. In this particular group of paintings, I have taken inspiration from costume jewelry, specifically old plastic scotty pins made from bakelite in the early 1940s. These paintings represent the commomplace colliding with fine arts, an array of thoughtful compositions combined with fabulous colors. They are the insignificant made significant; the mundane morphing into the unique. In a world filled with the expected, where anticipation has evolved into anxiety, the Scotties are a breath of fresh air, an unexpected segue into delight.

Thanks, Tina Turner
